Vote? For grades 4-9 & families. Election Day 2012! 18-year old Nicole registered to vote but has no intention of casting a ballot today...too many things to do. As her friend argues about the need to voice an opinion, Nicole suddenly slips back through time, tossed from one historical event to another.
A Thousand Cranes Grades 3-8 & families. The true story of Sadako who was 2 when the bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. Then, radiation sickness came when she was 12 and Sadako began to fold 1000 paper cranes, a traditional Japanese wish for wellness and peace. Before she died, she could only make 600 cranes. It was her friends and classmates who finished the 1000. Sadako's statue stands in Hiroshima Peace Park and every year children send thousands of paper cranes to be placed there. This play is filled with Sadako’s spirit of hope and reconciliation, continuing to inspire young people around the world.
Woodland Tales Touring with A Thousand Cranes. For K – 5th & families. How did the turkey get his gobble? Why are rabbit ears so long? How did the frog lose his teeth? For hundreds of years, Native American children have delighted in these stories of how animals came to be like they are. Like Kipling's Just So Stories, the Native American lore in Woodland Tales combines humor and wisdom to enchant the youngest among us.
